Oh Jimmy!

Every week I fall in love….with a different pair of shoes. And it isn’t often that Jimmy Choo suites my fancy. Most times he’s too conservative for my taste (I usually like em a bit on the wild side), but this time around he’s won my heart. The new Vivienne Platform sandal is all I could ever ask for. The sandal combines a suede platform and a strappy snakeskin body that wraps around the ankle to provide sex….on your feet.

And apparently I like them expensive considering that this guy will run you $1695.

Are there any holidays coming up? I’d like to add this to my wish list. Thanks in advance! Until next week….

In the Nude

Nude shoes aren’t hard to come by BUT finding the right color for your skin tone can be difficult. I’ve tried on tans and pinks….hell even olive shades to get the nude look but so far no luck. Once you do find the right shade, they pair well with(almost) ANYTHING. Below are some successful and NOT so successful nude looks.  Take your pick.

Ciara and her BFF LaLa both rocked nude shoes on the red carpet during All-Star weekend in LA.

My vote’s in for Selita! Gotta love it.

Rainy Days

It NEVER rains in Southern California.

I beg to differ. I’ve seen more rain in LA these past few months than I have in the 3 years I’ve been living here. And with the predictions of MORE rain to come, I’m thinking about buying a sturdy pair of rain boots for these unpredictable days.

I’ve been seeing Hunter Boots everywhere I look and although I’m not the biggest fan, considering that these rubber creations run you about $125, but the fun, bright colors are tempting me. I went over to I Heart My Product to research more and found that Gilt.com is offering them for $59, so I think I’ve found a definite winner!

They aren’t you’re typical stilettos but they work for this weather….hmph.

Christian Louboutin Daffodile Pump

Christian Louboutin is known for making sky-scraping heels. His platform pumps usually are about 150mm = 5.9″. Yes ladies Louboutin can take you from being 5’4″ to 5’10″ or in my case, 5’9″ to 6’3″ <—eeeek!

Recently he released the Daffodile pump, which Beyonce has been seen rocking in different styles these last 2 weeks. The platform pump has a 160mm (6.3″ ) heel and a 2.5″ platform. Sexy.

Double-Take

Steve Madden should win an award for cloning high end shoes.

As unoriginal as it may seem – you have to give them credit for creating shoes similar to the top brands on the market at an affordable price. I’m talking replicas. How they do it, I’m not so sure. But I do know that there are tons of women walking around right now with shoes that look just alike and you wouldn’t know the difference.

While I’d much rather take Prada or Miu Miu – I’ll keep the extra change and stick to good ole Steve for now. Peep the shoe twins below….and their price differences.

Looks We Love

Last week, while everyone across the country was enjoying the looks from New York fashion week up close and personal, I was forced to live vicariously through them through blogs, video and….the Barney’s Warehouse sale!

Or so I thought.

Twice a year Barney’s New York knocks 40-75% off their prices for the ultimate shopping spree. I’m talking Fendi shoes for $350. Considering the prices, I expected the sale to look something like the scene from Confessions of a Shopaholic where women are throwing themselves at marked down designer clothes. Wrong again. So I was forced back to browsing the blogs and although shoes are understated, I came across some amazing looks. Hmmm…maybe I’ll get to grab some of these items at the next Barney’s sale? *wishful thinking*

The Color Red

If it were up to me….roses and flowers would no longer be the protocol for Valentine’s Day presents. I mean who makes these rules anyway?

Nothing says Valentine’s Day like a pair of red bottoms. How appropriate! Right? Ok, so maybe a $925 pair of Christian Louboutins is a big jump from those $60 flowers delivered to your office desk – but at least the shoes last longer than a few days, plus the red just screams LOVE.

There’s a saying that goes: “Don’t buy your woman a pair of shoes or she’ll walk out of your life.” Well, last year my boyfriend (who I love dearly) bought me a beautiful pair of classic black patent leather Christian Louboutin pumps and although we’re no longer together…at least I was walking away in some kick ass heels!

Speak of the Devil

Just yesterday I was RAVING about my year-old Pierre Hardy shoes, then I stumbled across my favorite shoe blog : The Shoe Girl – and saw that the NEW Pierre Hardy Summer/Spring 2011 collection is out. Finally, someone is giving us a reason to wear wedges again.

The new collection offers a variety of sky-high wedges in bold colors. The great thing about wedges is that they provide a lot of support, so they’re comfortable for those long nights out on the town, but they also look great when you’re out and about during the day.

I’ll take one of each, please!

Sex on My Feet

What’s a shoegasm?

It’s exactly what it sounds like…it’s that feeling when you see that one pair of shoes stand out from all others on the rack. Your stomach drops, adrenaline pumping, your mind clears. It’s only that pair of shoes, with a glowing cloud around them. They were made just for you. You know it even before you put the damn things on. You just want to buy them fast and quickly, and be alone with them. But once you actually try them on, they fit like Cinderella- but better. There’s no arch showing, no toes overhanging the edges…and while they may hurt (after a while), you are in the midst of your shoegasm, and they look so good you really don’t care how they feel. Its those heels that transform the sidewalk into a runway. And no matter how much you wear them or what you wear them with they always get the job done.

It’s not just sexy…it’s sex on your feet.

Which pair of shoes always make me shoegasm? My Pierre Hardy’s from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection (see above). It’s a caged platform heel measuring about 5” with gold straps to accent the dark plastic cutouts. They also came in tthis funky purple and silver metallic combo.
